Downloading and installing the FirstClass Client

• Click on the following link: http://fcs.dlconline.net/ClientDownloads/
• Choose Windows or Mac
• Click Step 1
  • Choose Save to Disk (this is important!!! Do not attempt to open an installation file!!!).
  • Save to your Desktop or someplace where YOU can find the file!
  • After the file downloads, double click on the install file and accept ALL DEFAULTS.
  • When the installation is completed, you’ll have a new icon for FirstClass on your Desktop.
• Step 2
  • Click Start -> Programs, and select FirstClass (or click the FirstClass icon on your Desktop).
  • FirstClass will load to a login window.
  • Windows Users: Enter your user ID and password assigned by your institution.
  • Mac users:  PLEASE DON’T SKIP THIS STEP OR YOU WON’T BE ABLE TO LOGIN!!!
  • Click the Advanced button (lower left of login window)
  • Click Setup (lower right of login window)
  • Click into the server field.  Enter fcs.dlconline.net
  • Click Save
• Login to FirstClass
• Kindly note that user ids and passwords are CASE SENSITIVE!!
• If you cannot login (ie. “Sorry, there is no FirstClass server by that name on the network”) you probably missed Step 2. Not a big deal. At the login screen, click Advanced -> Setup. Enter fcs.dlconline.net in the server field. Click SAVE, and you’re ready to go.
